Feeding Therapy

What is Feeding Therapy?

Feeding therapy is more than just “teaching a child to eat.” Therapists work closely with patients and their families to determine the source of the child’s difficulties and develop very specific therapies to make the entire process of eating easier and more enjoyable.

Does my Child Need Feeding Therapy?

  • May be a “picky eater” or “problem feeder”
  • May be a “picky eater” or “problem feeder”

  • Irritability (e.g. fussy) during feeding times• Difficulty to accept or tolerate different textures of food
  • Difficulty chewing, moving food around the mouth
  • Coughing or gagging during meals
  • Frequent spitting up or vomiting

  • Inability to accept table food (e.g. solids) by 12 months
