Good Faith Estimate

Understanding the cost of care before you begin.

Know what to expect before you begin

Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers are required to provide a Good Faith Estimate to patients who are uninsured or who choose to pay out of pocket rather than using their insurance. A Good Faith Estimate outlines the expected cost of your child’s services so you have a clear picture of what to expect before care begins.

A Good Faith Estimate is not a final bill. Actual charges may differ depending on your child’s progress and any changes to their plan of care. However, if your final charges exceed your estimate by more than $400, you have the right to dispute those charges.

Good Faith Estimates apply to private pay clients only. If you are using insurance or Regional Center funding to cover your child’s services, this requirement does not apply to your situation.
